Coaching Improves Motivation and Success

Coaching provides an opportunity for you to slow down, focus, breathe, plan, and act in an intentional way that is consistent with your values and purpose. At WPM Strategies, we believe you possess a wealth of knowledge and resources that are the source of your answers and action.

Coaching:

  • Helps you focus on what you really want
  • Increases your motivation and action
  • Enhances your effectiveness, capacity, and commitment
  • Holds you accountable for what you say you want

What Does a Coach Do?
WPM Strategies coaches are certified and trained to help you change from the inside out. We listen, ask powerful questions, motivate, and provide accountability. We help you make effective and sustained change in your behavior, outlook, and attitude by eliciting solutions from you. We are your champion and we help you use the skills, assets, and creativity you already have. We do this together by examining values, dreaming, thinking, feeling, setting goals, taking action, and reflecting. You will have the opportunity to explore your passions, motivations, and even random thoughts you’d like to make sense of.

A typical coaching session happens over the phone and can also take place face-to-face. Coaching usually begins with a “discovery period” and continues with 35-45 minute sessions two to three times a month. The most effective results come from a long-term relationship of six to nine months.

How is Coaching Different from Mentoring, Consulting, and Therapy?
A mentor is a person with the same or similar profession who instructs and guides someone toward a particular end. A consultant is an expert that provides answers, instructions, and solutions. A therapist is someone who makes a diagnosis and helps you move forward primarily by examining issues from the past.

A coach believes you are the expert and supports you while you develop your own solutions. A coach begins by looking forward and encourages you to use your innate wisdom and resourcefulness to create lasting results. A coach holds you accountable for what you say you want and helps your move forward when you are stuck or your goals need to be revised.
